Nazareth

Nazareth (/ˈnæzərəθ/; Hebrew: נָצְרַת, Naṣrat; Aramaic: ܢܨܪܬ‎, Naṣrath; Arabic: النَّاصِرَة‎, an-Nāṣira) is the capital and the largest city in the Northern District of Israel. Nazareth is known as "the Arab capital of Israel".[2] The population is made up predominantly of Arab citizens of Israel, almost all of whom are either Muslim (69%) or Christian (30.9%).[2][3][4][5]

In the New Testament, the city is described as the childhood home of Jesus, and as such is a center of Christian pilgrimage, with many shrines commemorating biblical events.

65 As we were walking back to the bus we saw this bloke handing out copies of the Koran. Most people seemed to be ignoring him until I decided that I would like a copy so I could read it and maybe understand a little more. That seemed to start a trend and several other people then also asked for a copy. Not sure it impressed our guide Fr. Martin.!!
